Pathways CIC Awarded Prestigious Princess Royal Training Award for Groundbreaking Work and Health Training

Pathways Community Interest Company (Pathways CIC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award, recognising the organisation’s pioneering approach to integrating work and health training. The Awards, delivered by City & Guilds and celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, honour employers that demonstrate outstanding commitment to learning and development, and highlight the tangible impact of exceptional training on organisations, individuals and wider society.

Tackling the Work and Health Training Gap

Pathways CIC identified a critical gap in the national training landscape, identifying the absence of an integrated Work and Health training programme. Existing training was siloed and failed to address the interconnectivity between work and health. This made it challenging to ensure those providing support to people on such programmes to be equipped with the comprehensive, cross-disciplinary skills needed to thrive in their roles supporting both employed and unemployed clients with health conditions to either return to work following a period of sickness absence or move into work.  To address this, Pathways CIC developed a unique, CPD-certified one day training programme delivered through its Personalised Care Training Academy (PCTA). This programme equips Work and Health Coaches and frontline non-clinical staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide a specialist, blended approach to work and health that integrates holistic, person-centred support. This model directly benefits individuals with health conditions by empowering them to seek or retain meaningful employment, while also fostering healthier, more inclusive workplaces and communities. Where people need further support to provide health condition support they can access their Personalised Care Training Academy’s Personalised Care Institute Health Coaching Training.
