Pathways Community Interest Company, based in Crewe was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Human Resources category in The 11th Annual International Business Awards yesterday.
The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organisations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2014 IBAs received entries from more than 60 nations and territories.
Pathways CIC, a local, small, family run, not for profit organisation based in Crewe, Cheshire has been recognised internationally for its best Human Resource Management practice delivering an innovative programme supporting employees who are off sick from work who may be at risk spending long periods away from work due to health problems. The innovative programme provides independent human resource guidance for employees with access to physiotherapy and psychological support within 3 working days, coupled with support for social issues the individuals may be facing for example financial advice. Uniquely the service links together the employee, the employer and the employee's GP to improve outcomes for Pathways clients.
Yvonne Clarke, Founder member of Pathways CIC, who previously worked in the NHS for in excess of 20 years before setting up Pathways, said “ 'I am absolutely thrilled that Pathways has been honoured to receive a prestigious gold Stevie Award. In the UK annually over 130 million days are lost to sickness absence with a cost to the economy of around £15 billion. I passionately believe that more needs to be done to help people with health conditions to remain in work and stop people needlessly moving onto health related benefits . What we have shown is that enabling people to gain the right support at the right time, gets people back into work quickly, and indeed does stop people moving out of work onto benefits.”
Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 250 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from May through early August.
“We congratulate all of the Stevie winners in this year’s IBAs,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “The quality of entries we receive improves every year. This year’s judges were rewarded with the opportunity to review more than 3,500 stories of business achievement and innovation from around the world. We look forward to celebrating the winners’ achievements in Paris on 10 October.”
