Pathways testimonials

The session was very beneficial for the local community. The presentation provided individuals an opportunity to discuss stress and how to relax. It also provided knowledge and awareness of mental health, this is a theme we will be exploring more. I had positive feedback about the course and the staff were fantastic

Again I would like to say a big THANK YOU to your lovely, knowledgeable staff for their presentation about Money Management. The young parents surely enjoyed the session and were able to contribute their money matters issues with your team and their peers.

Thank you so much

Hope you all are well. The parents really enjoyed the money management, as a result of the course parents have stated they would like to try the budgeting techniques. Parents stated they enjoyed working with staff and found they could openly discuss the embarrassing issue of debt. I would like to thank all your team for being fantastic and delivering very useful courses. Thanks

Knowing Jan was at the other end of the phone was a great comfort to me. She listened, advised, supported and guided me throughout a very difficult time. I haven't seen Jan but her voice is calm, warm and comforting. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks and I hope your service continues so others can have the same support as I had. Thank you

Since the start of my employment with Pathways CIC, I have changed as a person in so many ways. When I began I felt I was very immature, and to be honest did not take the job to seriously. Over 4 months I realised the mistakes I was making and re-evaluated myself. In my eyes I am a very enjoyable person to work with, I have matured and I am able to communicate with my team more effectively and therefore I am a better person for this. I give all of my thanks to Pathways CIC and my manager Alex Potts. Since completing 6 months of employment as a community champion I have successfully gained stable employment.

"To the end of December 2010 IAPT NW has been responsible for returning 2764 people back into employment and off benefits over an 18 month period. This is an outstanding achievement, demonstrating that our collaborative approach and partnership working with Pathways CIC was the right thing to do and I thank Yvonne and her Team for their hard work."

"Jan my advisor was very helpful and supported me at every stage; my employer was very good at dragging things out and giving me incorrect information but Jan always helped me to side-step the issue without being confrontational. I thought she was brilliant!!"

My time at Pathways CIC has been a great experience, learning new skills such as time management, learning about mental well-being and much more. During my time in my employment I have met new people and gained an understanding of people’s views towards health services in their community.

I have found my time working at Pathways CIC very enjoyable because I have met new people, gained experience and learned new skills that I didn’t have prior to working there. I believe it will help me in my future employment as I want to be a social worker and I now have a view on how people feel towards services and what they expect, this will help me sympathise towards and understand there needs more.

Dear Jan,
Many thanks for all you have done to help me. As you know, I have found the last few months extremely difficult but its hard for me to imagine how I would have got through that time without your guidance, understanding, advice and support. Your phone calls, always when you said they would be, and in-between as well, were so reassuring to me and, feeling so stressed and anxious, I always felt so much better after speaking with you. It was also very reassuring to know how I could make contact with you at any time and on the odd occasion I rang the office how lovely to speak to Alan who was also so helpful and so friendly - please would you pass on my thanks to him also.
Pathways offers a wonderful service. I don't know how I would have managed without your help and support and I am truly grateful to you.
With Many Thanks.
PS Thank you for your letter. I would be more than happy to complete a satisfaction questionnaire should you wish me to.
PPS Still looking for another job but having left the hospice, I feel a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I have you to thank for that.

Thanks to Health and Work, Pathways CIC ....

2-3000 people had the chance to experience something special at Jamaica Day 2010. Thank you so very much for your support.

“Before starting at Pathways CIC, my confidence was at an all time low, I lacked self esteem and had limited social interaction. Although employed as a community champion I was appointed an administration role by my manager, which asked me to complete tasks such as answering and directing calls, working as a team, keeping our teams diary, tasks I initially felt uncomfortable and not confident about doing. After almost 6 months of working at Pathways CIC I feel I have gained invaluable and transferrable skills, that have not only boosted my confidence, allowed me to make new friends, enhance my communication skills but will help me towards gaining a career and a better education. In the future I hope to be web-designer.”

Pathways CIC practices what it preaches and enables people with mental health problems to work, with support and understanding. I have a long term mental health problem but have been encouraged and supported to remain in work. This has led to a building a self esteem and helps me empathise with the people we work with.
Lottie Little - Project Co-ordinator at Pathways CIC
When I joined the company, the one thing that was very noticeable was the approachable, welcoming and caring attitude of everyone who worked here, which helped me to settle in immediately and after my first week with them, I felt I had been there for years. Pathways CIC is an organisation that accepts the person as the whole and whatever your personal and professional status, everyone is treated as an equal and views are welcomed and encouraged. Personally, I have been encouraged to develop new skills and adapt new working practices, which benefit both myself and the company. The company not only advocate the well-being of their staff but also our families, and show a great interest (and support if needed) in personal lives. I feel a very integral part of the Pathways CIC family - in fact I feel as though I am a family member working for a family firm and it is both an immense pleasure and pride to both myself and my family to be a part of this organisation.

The drop in sessions and the swimming sessions have benefited me alot since it started. They have made me aware of health issues such as depression as well s giving me the opportunity to keep fit in an enjoyable and recreational way. It also gives me a chance to socialise with other members of the community.
Monisha Khan - Member of the Community
My children and I enjoy attending the swimming drop-in sessions very much. These have been long awaited stuctured gatherings which have been proven to be so informative t myself and other members of the community who attend.
As a group, we have learnt about mental health, exercise and general well-being. We have found out about the various places/people to contact about different issues, I.E:- the local community police and the Wishing Well Project.
Personally I have foud the Swimming Sessions to be an invaluable toll that has been organised for the Muslim ladies, as I have now learnt to be a better swimmer. Also my eight year old is also learning to swim spite being previously afraid of the water. I have realised how important these sessions are and the social aspect is also most beneficial and enjoyable. The ladies find these sessions way to meet other people of our community and talk about various issues relating to the topic being discussed.

Joining Young Persons Health Partnership has given me the motivation to get up and I feel like I am making a change in my home town. It is the best thing to happen to me in a long time. It’s made me happy again to be back in the work environment. Friends and family have noticed a difference in me and say that I seem much happier.

'I feel the philosophy of Pathways CIC and the work we do as a team is excellent. We listen to our clients and the community and work to reach joint goals and outcomes'.
Ceri Hodgkison - Vocational advisor and Project Co-ordinator
I work on the target well being project. I have worked with people who have extremely low self esteem, lack confidence and who have forgotten what their true self is. Over a period of weeks I work to restore and rebuild confidence, self esteem. The workshops are extremly enjoyable, and I personally get so much out of turning their attitude about themselves around , feedback is extremly postive, and people walk away with a can do positive attitude.

I think the programme was very educational, teaching you how best to deal with all kinds of issues relating to young people and to help prepare you better for permanent work. There was plenty of support and I feel it has been a good stepping stone for my career.
Billy Knapper - Community Champion Young Person's Health Partnership
I received all the training and support I needed and think the programme is a great way to get people back into work with the training and support they offer. I can say I’ve really enjoyed the team leader role within the Veterans Team and have learned a great deal in man management and self-confidence.
